FAQ
Roofing questions, answered
Straight answers to what homeowners ask most — especially after a storm. If yours isn’t here, call (239) 449-9659.
Is the roof inspection free?
Yes. Roof Revolution offers free roof repair estimates. Request a free roof inspection with the form on this site or by calling (239) 449-9659, and Roof Revolution will contact you to set a time.
What should I do right after a storm?
Stay off the roof — wet tile and shingle are slippery, and a storm-damaged roof can be weaker than it looks. From the ground, look for pieces in the yard, lifted or shifted shingles and tile, bent gutters or flashing, and new stains inside. Take photos, protect anything getting wet indoors, and request an inspection.
How do I know if I need a repair or a full replacement?
It comes down to how widespread the damage is and how much life the roof has left. A few cracked tiles or one failed flashing detail on an otherwise sound roof is a repair. Leaks in several places, widespread cracked or worn material, or soft spots in the deck point to a replacement. The inspection is there to tell you which.
Should I file an insurance claim for storm damage?
That decision is between you and your insurance company, and it depends on your policy and your deductible. An inspection first gives you a clear picture of what is actually damaged, so you can decide with the facts in hand.
Tile, shingle, metal or flat — which is right for my home?
It depends on the structure, the look you want, your budget and any HOA rules. Tile is heavy and needs a structure built to carry it; shingle is the lighter, lower-cost option; metal is light and long-lived; flat and low-slope sections need a membrane system. The right answer is specific to your house.
Do I need a permit to replace my roof in Naples?
In Florida, replacing a roof generally requires a building permit and inspections. The permit is normally pulled by the roofing contractor before work begins.
How long does a roof last in Southwest Florida?
There is no single number. Material, installation quality, ventilation and storm exposure all matter, and strong sun and salt air are hard on any roof. The more useful question is what condition yours is in now — which is exactly what an inspection answers.
